Born April 18, 2019, Jocko has grown into a handsome pup with a keen interest in loving and making proud his people. Jocko (Nitro x Marley) comes from lines out of Athena Rima and Carla Slabaugh's programs, including Riker and Brock. He started his show career at 5 months of age where, at his show debut, took BIS 4-6mon puppy. Since then, he finished his Championship title at 1.5 years of age in October of 2020 with three- 5 point majors and one- 4 point major. Jocko finished his Grand Championship title in August of 2021 and his Bronze level Championship one year later. Just entering his prime, he continues to dominate consistently in the show circuit. In addition to his titles in conformation, he has also proven himself in Rally and Obedience, demonstrating a specific knack for Rally competition. He continues to work toward his excellent titles in scentwork and will begin in 2023 to accompany Meghan on animal therapy and hospice visits as a Certified Pet Partners Therapy Dog.

VCA Nationals 2023

Jocko and his kids all did well in Longview, WA. From Breeder/Judge Linda Durham at the VCA National, Jocko was awarded 3rd (out of 10) stud dog; 2nd place in the Regional.

He also competed in IronDog, which meant participating in, and being scored in, performance events including Obedience, Rally, Agility, Scent Work, and Conformation.

Most notably, his daughter from the Adventurer Litter, Denali, won Reserve Winners Bitch at the VCA National for her FIRST 3-point major (because it took hosting the NATIONAL event in the state of WA to be able to get enough girls together to make one :-)

Lewiston Spring Cluster

April 22-24, 2022

Jocko and I had a great time in the warm sunshine before heading over to Minneapolis, MN for Nationals. In the three days he was shown, he took Select dog to the #1 Vizsla in the country, and OHBOB. That meant we had an opportunity to play in OH groups, where he took two Group 1s (judges Mrs. Anna Lorenz and Mr. Nathaniel Horn) and one Group 2 (judge Mr. David A Alexander.) When we finished playing in the conformation rings, he went and ran six qualifying runs, working toward his DCAT.

Gloria Kerr awarded Jocko an AOM on Saturday in Phoenix, AZ. In addition, he also added his CD, RA, and CGC/CGCA/CGCU titles to his name.

Puyallup Winter Cluster

January 15-17, 2022

Jocko kicked off 2022 with a weekend full of conformation and his (and mine) first appearance in the obedience ring. There, he picked up 3 qualifying runs, including one 4th (B division) and two- 1st places (A division), to earn his Beginner Novice (BN) title.

Up until Sunday, he did not attract the attention of the judges, saving his big show for the world-renowned judge Mrs. Pat Trotter, who awarded him BOB/BOBOH out of a stellar line up of vizslas. He went on to earn a Group 4 in the NOHS ring under judge Mr. Robert Hutton.

Tri Cities Cluster

Jocko experienced some stiff competition from some of the best vizslas in the PNW and ultimately trotted off the show grounds with three AOMs to his credit. The last conformation show of the year, we look forward to taking some time off to get some handling instruction and work on some performance titles before stepping back into the ring in January of 2022.
